{"id":24515,"date":"2026-09-28T07:20:21","date_gmt":"2026-09-28T04:20:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kapa3.gr\/?p=24515"},"modified":"2026-09-28T07:20:21","modified_gmt":"2026-09-28T04:20:21","slug":"myrto-from-real-world-needs-to-european-scientific-engagement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kapa3.gr\/en\/myrto-from-real-world-needs-to-european-scientific-engagement\/","title":{"rendered":"MYRTO: From Real-World Needs to European Scientific Engagement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><b>MYRTO<\/b><\/strong>, the digital Social Rights Navigator developed by Kapa3, is taking an important step from real-world experience to the <strong><b>European scientific community<\/b><\/strong>, with two studies accepted for presentation at EONS and ESMO events in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The first study, <strong><b>\u201cMYRTO as an AI-Supported Navigation Model for Equitable Access to Cancer Care: Real-World Needs from 1,083 Beneficiaries\u201d<\/b><\/strong>, will be presented as a poster at <strong><b>EONS19 at ESMO 2026<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0in Madrid, 24\u201326 October 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The study draws on the real-world needs of <strong><b>1,083 Kapa3 beneficiaries<\/b><\/strong>, identifying eight key navigation areas: rights and benefits, disability certification and administrative procedures, access to health and social services, transportation and geographical barriers, employment and social protection, health and digital literacy, caregiver support, and referral to human professionals when needed.<\/p>\n<p>The findings highlight that equitable access to cancer care is not only about clinical information. It also depends on people&#8217;s ability to <strong><b>find, understand and use reliable information<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0during an exceptionally demanding period of their lives.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><b>From real-world needs to technology evaluation<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The second study, <strong><b>\u201cSource-Based Artificial Intelligence (AI) Navigation for Fragmented Nonclinical Cancer-Support Information: Pilot Evaluation of a Human-Supervised System\u201d<\/b><\/strong>, has been accepted as an e-Poster at the <strong><b>ESMO AI &amp; Digital Oncology Congress 2026<\/b><\/strong>, taking place on 16\u201318 November 2026.<\/p>\n<p>This study focuses on the operation and evaluation of MYRTO as a <strong><b>source-grounded, human-supervised AI system<\/b><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The pilot evaluation drew on <strong><b>448 authoritative documents and 29,148 indexed excerpts<\/b><\/strong>\u00a0and assessed 100 predefined questions. For all 84 answerable questions, source-supported and actionable responses were generated without modifications following Kapa3 expert review. The system also applied clarification, abstention or redirection mechanisms when evidence was insufficient or when questions involved medical advice or fell outside its intended scope.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><b>Two studies, one shared philosophy<\/b><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The two studies reflect complementary dimensions of MYRTO: <strong><b>the real-world needs that led to its development and the way technology is being designed to respond to those needs through evidence, clear boundaries and human supervision.<\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For Kapa3, Artificial Intelligence is not intended to replace human support.
