{"id":23903,"date":"2026-05-04T02:19:03","date_gmt":"2026-05-03T23:19:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kapa3.gr\/?p=23903"},"modified":"2026-05-04T02:41:24","modified_gmt":"2026-05-03T23:41:24","slug":"eopyy-respiratory-devices-reimbursement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kapa3.gr\/en\/eopyy-respiratory-devices-reimbursement\/","title":{"rendered":"EOPYY: New reimbursement framework for respiratory devices \u2013 What changes for patients"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"348\" data-end=\"501\">The reimbursement of respiratory devices under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eopyy.gov.gr\/\">EOPYY <\/a>has been updated through a new decision published in the Government Gazette (FEK) on April 27, 2026.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"503\" data-end=\"694\">On April 27, 2026, a new EOPYY decision was published in the Government Gazette, establishing revised reimbursement prices for respiratory devices such as CPAP, Auto CPAP, and BiPAP machines.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"696\" data-end=\"878\">These are medical devices primarily used by patients with respiratory disorders, including sleep apnoea, and they represent a fundamental part of daily treatment and quality of life.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"icai3p\" data-start=\"880\" data-end=\"941\">EOPYY reimbursement for respiratory devices: what changes<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"943\" data-end=\"964\">With this regulation:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"966\" data-end=\"1200\">\n<li data-section-id=\"az7as8\" data-start=\"966\" data-end=\"1051\">specific reimbursement prices are defined for each category of respiratory device<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1ckedqq\" data-start=\"1052\" data-end=\"1140\">the prices apply to all products included in the Reimbursed Medical Devices Register<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1ark8qy\" data-start=\"1141\" data-end=\"1200\">previous decisions for the same categories are replaced<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1202\" data-end=\"1289\">Prices are unified per device category, regardless of manufacturer or commercial model.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"12xd4cl\" data-start=\"1291\" data-end=\"1323\">What this means for patients<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1325\" data-end=\"1511\">The new EOPYY reimbursement framework for respiratory devices provides a clearer structure for people living with respiratory conditions who depend on these devices in their daily lives:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1513\" data-end=\"1704\">\n<li data-section-id=\"5pbjic\" data-start=\"1513\" data-end=\"1554\">it clarifies what is covered by EOPYY<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"qg5o45\" data-start=\"1555\" data-end=\"1612\">it strengthens transparency regarding equipment costs<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"1esypmt\" data-start=\"1613\" data-end=\"1704\">it ensures access to essential therapeutic tools that are not a choice, but a necessity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1706\" data-end=\"1807\">In some cases, a patient co-payment may apply when the device price exceeds the reimbursement amount.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"yaz9q8\" data-start=\"1809\" data-end=\"1847\">Temporary nature of the regulation<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1849\" data-end=\"1995\">The decision is considered temporary, as it is part of a transitional framework until the completion of the negotiation process for final pricing.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1997\" data-end=\"2147\">Nevertheless, it is fully applicable from the moment of its publication in the Government Gazette and constitutes the current reimbursement framework.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"1ettbnl\" data-start=\"2149\" data-end=\"2177\">A more human perspective<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2179\" data-end=\"2347\">Behind technical terms, codes, and regulatory tables, there are people who rely on these devices to breathe better, sleep better, and maintain a more stable daily life.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2349\" data-end=\"2501\">A clear reimbursement framework is not merely an administrative measure.
