{"id":23707,"date":"2026-04-09T14:48:56","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T11:48:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kapa3.gr\/?p=23707"},"modified":"2026-04-09T14:48:56","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T11:48:56","slug":"new-national-patient-registry-for-hospital-at-home-care-nospi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kapa3.gr\/en\/new-national-patient-registry-for-hospital-at-home-care-nospi\/","title":{"rendered":"New National Patient Registry for Hospital-at-Home Care (NOSPI)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"178\" data-end=\"639\">Patient care at home in Greece is becoming more <strong data-start=\"226\" data-end=\"250\">organized and secure<\/strong> with the establishment of the <strong data-start=\"281\" data-end=\"354\">National Registry of Patients Receiving Hospital-at-Home Care (NOSPI)<\/strong>, as published in <strong data-start=\"372\" data-end=\"410\">Government Gazette 1995\/07.04.2026<\/strong>. The <strong data-start=\"416\" data-end=\"433\">NOSPI program<\/strong> is already in <strong data-start=\"448\" data-end=\"472\">pilot implementation<\/strong> at selected hospitals nationwide, with the goal of <strong data-start=\"524\" data-end=\"577\">full development and operation by the end of 2026<\/strong>, including a <strong data-start=\"591\" data-end=\"611\">digital platform<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"616\" data-end=\"636\">patient registry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"641\" data-end=\"1299\">The new <strong data-start=\"649\" data-end=\"661\">registry<\/strong> aims to <strong data-start=\"670\" data-end=\"729\">systematically record patients receiving NOSPI services<\/strong>, ensuring that <strong data-start=\"745\" data-end=\"797\">care is tailored to individual therapeutic needs<\/strong>. Patient groups eligible for inclusion include, among others, those with <strong data-start=\"871\" data-end=\"889\">tracheostomies<\/strong>, on <strong data-start=\"894\" data-end=\"933\">non-invasive mechanical ventilation<\/strong>, receiving <strong data-start=\"945\" data-end=\"973\">long-term oxygen therapy<\/strong>, on <strong data-start=\"978\" data-end=\"1015\">parenteral or gastrostomy feeding<\/strong>, as well as those requiring <strong data-start=\"1044\" data-end=\"1071\">intensive physiotherapy<\/strong> or <strong data-start=\"1075\" data-end=\"1102\">mobility rehabilitation<\/strong>. Currently, enrollment primarily focuses on <strong data-start=\"1147\" data-end=\"1189\">children with severe health conditions<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1194\" data-end=\"1245\">chronically ill patients needing pulmonary care<\/strong>, in collaboration with <strong data-start=\"1269\" data-end=\"1296\">pilot Reference Centers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1301\" data-end=\"1750\">While the <strong data-start=\"1311\" data-end=\"1328\">NOSPI program<\/strong> is already operating in a <strong data-start=\"1355\" data-end=\"1370\">pilot phase<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1372\" data-end=\"1392\">universal access<\/strong> for all patients in the country has not yet been achieved. Its development is <strong data-start=\"1471\" data-end=\"1482\">gradual<\/strong>, with <strong data-start=\"1489\" data-end=\"1600\">full operation\u2014including digital infrastructure and registry-based documentation\u2014planned by the end of 2026<\/strong>. Strengthening <strong data-start=\"1616\" data-end=\"1641\">Hospital-at-Home care<\/strong> enables <strong data-start=\"1650\" data-end=\"1709\">better monitoring and improvement of home care services<\/strong> for patients with <strong data-start=\"1728\" data-end=\"1747\">long-term needs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1752\" data-end=\"2105\">Through the <strong data-start=\"1764\" data-end=\"1776\">registry<\/strong>, authorities can <strong data-start=\"1794\" data-end=\"1840\">collect accurate and essential health data<\/strong>, enhancing the <strong data-start=\"1856\" data-end=\"1879\">quality of services<\/strong> and supporting the <strong data-start=\"1899\" data-end=\"1937\">design of targeted health policies<\/strong>. Implementation respects <strong data-start=\"1963\" data-end=\"1991\">personal data protection<\/strong> in line with the <strong data-start=\"2009\" data-end=\"2054\">General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)<\/strong>, ensuring <strong data-start=\"2065\" data-end=\"2081\">transparency<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"2086\" data-end=\"2102\">public trust<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2107\" data-end=\"2429\">For <strong data-start=\"2111\" data-end=\"2138\">families and caregivers<\/strong>, patient enrollment in the <strong data-start=\"2166\" data-end=\"2193\">NOSPI National Registry<\/strong> means <strong data-start=\"2200\" data-end=\"2235\">access to more coordinated care<\/strong>, with <strong data-start=\"2242\" data-end=\"2287\">support delivered directly to their homes<\/strong>. Furthermore, <strong data-start=\"2302\" data-end=\"2319\">documentation<\/strong> helps <strong data-start=\"2326\" data-end=\"2372\">evaluate and improve home nursing services<\/strong>, enhancing <strong data-start=\"2384\" data-end=\"2402\">patient safety<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"2407\" data-end=\"2426\">quality of life<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2431\" data-end=\"2681\">This initiative, combined with the development of the <strong data-start=\"2485\" data-end=\"2518\">digital platform and registry<\/strong>, aims not only to <strong data-start=\"2537\" data-end=\"2567\">upgrade home care services<\/strong> but also to <strong data-start=\"2580\" data-end=\"2610\">reduce hospital congestion<\/strong> and ensure <strong data-start=\"2622\"
